The people - Gill Reed
Gill is our wonderful receptionist who manages to create order out of chaos on a daily basis. She juggles people, appointment diaries, telephone calls, letters, texts, e-mails, payments, delivery men, lunch orders and the whims of temperamental dentists without batting an eyelid. She always appears serene, even in times of computer crisis.
This lady is very special. We believe she has a magic wand and a crystal ball and she can create time. We know this because she can find appointments where none actually exist. She can also make the best tea in the world!
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and the interaction with our patients.
What makes you happy?
Family, friends and being outside.
What do you do in your spare time?
At the moment I am doing a lot of jobs in my new house. I like walking, cycling, dancing and gardening.
What would you be if you weren't a receptionist?
I would like to run my own tea shop in the Lake District.
If you were an animal what would you be?
A cat because they are independent, go outside whenever they like, come in to a warm house to sleep, be fed and looked after.
What 3 words would you use to sum you up?
Organised, patient and calm.
