Dr Lynda Allman is delighted to offer facial aesthetic treatments at Acomb Dental Practice. These treatments can help soften expression lines and define facial contours. Procedures are quick and easy to undertake and the results can have the effect of restoring a more youthful appearance. Dentists are ideally suited to undertake this type of treatment due to their in depth knowledge of head and facial anatomy and their experience of precision work.

Lynda is a qualified Dental Surgeon with over 20 years experience in general practice and a special interest in cosmetic dentistry. In order to enable her to administer facial aesthetic treatments Lynda has undertaken extensive additional training with the internationally renowned Dr Bob Khanna Training Institute in London and is a member of the International Academy of Advanced Facial Aesthetics.

You will have a consultation with Lynda before treatment is undertaken during which the procedures will be fully explained.

Wrinkle Relaxation

Dysport® is a highly popular method of softening facial expression lines and making the face look refreshed. Crease lines and wrinkles are a natural maturing process caused by a combination of ageing, sun damage, gravity and the everyday motions of laughing, talking, frowning and crying.

Dysport® works by relaxing tiny facial muscles which create expression lines. This means the muscles no longer contract so the overlying skin stays smooth and crease-free. The result is a more serene and youthful look.

The procedure is simple and straightforward. Dysport® is injected using a very fine needle in very precise locations on the face. After around two or three days the effects are seen with full benefits becoming visible at around ten days and lasting around three to five months before repeat treatments are required.

Dermal Fillers

Cosmetics and moisturising products such as anti-aging creams act on the upper layers of the skin, primarily the epidermis. The hydration level, tone and elasticity of the skin are critical to its appearance.

To achieve long lasting improvements in the appearance of lines and wrinkles, a deeper layer of skin should be treated.

Juvederm® is a natural hyaluronic acid based sterile gel which is injected with a very fine needle directly into the dermis. Through injections at this level, the dermis can be augmented, providing a fundamental and lasting correction for wrinkles and depressions.

Treatment with Juvederm® is simple and straightforward. The gel contains local anaesthetic so that discomfort during the process is minimal. For more sensitive areas such as the lips, an anaesthetic nerve block similar to a dental injection can be used to numb the area completely before treatment.

Immediate results

With Juvederm®, fine lines, wrinkles and folds are immediately filled and corrected. Mouths too, can become fuller and lips more clearly defined with often a significant reversal of the tell-tale signs of aging around the lower third of the face. The effects of dermal fillers last between 6 and 12 months.
