Cosmetic Dentistry - 5 steps to a fantastic smile
No one likes surprises where their teeth are concerned! We like to have as much information as possible before recommending a Smile Makeover plan to you. If we are intending to make any major changes to the way your teeth look, the secret to success is good planning.
In order to always get a predictable outcome we follow our 5 steps to a fantastic smile:
1. Tell us what you want
A discussion about what you want is the key to getting it right. When we understand what you would like to achieve, we will talk about all the options you have so that you can make an informed decision on your treatment. At this stage we will give you a written, costed treatment plan.
2. Model smile
To do this we make models of your teeth which allow us to see how your new teeth would function and show you what they would look like after veneer treatment. With digital imaging and special computer software it is also possible to visualise how your smile would appear.
3. Trial smile
When you are happy with the models we can demonstrate the look using tooth coloured materials on your own teeth. This stage is completely risk- free - as yet no reversible treatment needs to be carried out to your natural teeth. Only when you are completely happy with the trial smile do we proceed with treatment.
Once you have seen the trial smile we prepare the teeth and make prototype restorations which you wear for a short while to make certain that you like the new look and that it works for you. This trial period allows us to specify any minor changes to the final restorations.
5. The final fit
Once you have approved the prototypes, a skilled ceramicist will make individual natural looking restorations which we will permanently bond into place. Now you can smile with confidence!
